Plain language, kept short on purpose. These terms govern ordering and using a Sounding Research study-area brief. Last updated 2026-09-01.
A professional record-research deliverable: a Stormwater Permit Design-Basis Brief, normalized workbook/CSV, supporting record, permit-lineage table, and indexed public source register. Reported values cite their source ID and page. It is not engineering design, not a regulatory determination, and not sealed work. The permit file of record controls.
The scope screen quotes a firm price from the number of current-sequence permit records whose district geometry intersects your boundary. Intersection is a discovery and pricing input, not a parcel-applicability determination. A reservation locks that quote and creates no charge and no obligation on either side. Ordering opens in limited batches; payment starts the delivery clock. Where card payment is offered it is processed by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.
The brief is delivered within 24 calendar hours of payment for standard tiers. Two carve-outs, both disclosed on the face of the product: if a district's public record service goes down mid-run, the clock pauses and we tell you; and Watershed-scale areas (61+ current-sequence records) are scheduled individually when quoted.
If an applicable permit is missing from the delivered research, tell us which one — reply to your order correspondence or use the request form on the scope screen, with your report number. We verify it against the district record, and if it is applicable and absent, the study area is refunded in full and re-run at no charge. We respond to remedy claims within two business days. A value we decline to report because its source could not be verified is not, by itself, a missed permit.
The sweep queries the district's own published index and geometry at run time, and the report states its query date, boundary, and limits on its face. Public indexes are not cadastral surveys: the report reflects what the named public records contain as of that date, not everything that has ever been recorded against a property by every authority. Coverage by district is stated on the coverage page; nothing is called live that you cannot order today.
The report and source set are yours to use in your professional work, including in client deliverables, with attribution appreciated but not required. The underlying documents are public records. Do not resell the report itself as a standalone product.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a report is limited to the fees you paid for that report. We are not liable for design, construction, investment, or acquisition decisions made from it — it is research, and it says so on its cover.
